Comments:

The Yamaha SA series, nicknamed "Super Axe," are highly regarded vintage Japanese semi-hollowbody guitars, often described as excellent alternatives or "killers" of the classic Gibson ES-335. The SA-700 model was a quality, mid-range offering known for its robust construction and high. The SA-700 was built in Yamaha's Hamamatsu factory and featured high-end materials and meticulous craftsmanship that surpassed many American-made guitars of the era. It featured a set neck and a solid center block, helping to reduce feedback and increase sustain. Unlike some higher-end SAs, it did not typically have the "Bi-Sound" (coil-tap) feature. The "PR" finish (Persimmon Red or Transparent Red) highlights the laminated beech and birch body, which aged beautifully over time. These guitars are celebrated for their classic, warm, PAF-style humbucker tone, delivering a rich mid-range that works well for both jazz and rock.Ā
